Prices continue to fall with all stations on our table now selling diesel for under 140p a litre. The usual stations appear to be cheapest, with the Beehive Station on Haslingden Road, Blackburn making an appearance for both petrol and diesel.

Sadly we still haven’t had the budget rise in fuel duty which is due to be implemented in August, so all the drops over recent days may well disappear.

A report from ITV Granada News sports reporter Chris Hall says that a source close to Venkys, the owners of Blackburn Rovers, says that manager Steve Kean has been offered a different role at the club, which would clear the way for a new man in charge.

But Blackburn has denied this saying there is no news and nothing imminent.

It follows meetings in India with owners, Venky’s this week, but still leaves the situation unclear.

This week has seen the publication of a damaging video on YouTube that saw Kean apparently saying that Sam Allardyce was a “f***ing crook”. Mr Allardyce now has passed the matter to his legal team.

Unfortunately the current confusion will add to the fans disquiet, with many fans urging the owners, Venky’s, to sell Blackburn Rovers and end their unpopular ownership period.

It would seem that the way information is being rumoured around social networking sites will add nothing to the lack of stability at the club. Nothing more or less than an official statement will be good enough and Venky’s need to do this now.

Steve Kean offered new role at Blackburn Rovers – Denied by Blackburn

Police have uncovered more cannabis being grown, this time in an upstairs room of a house in Stevenson Street East, Accrington. It followed a tip off from someone in the local community.

It is estimated that the find of 47 plants has a street value of around £20,000. Although the premises were empty the plants were still being watered and cared for and Community Beat Manager for Springhill PC Shazia Bibi said: “It appears as though no one was actually living at the address but someone had clearly been visiting the house regularly to water the plants.

“Enquiries continue to find out who had access to the house and I urge anyone with information to contact us.”

A large amount of cannabis bush was also seized from the address.
