TV’s Smashing Pumpkin Carver visits Blackburn Market

A giant 400lb pumpkin will be carved in Blackburn Market this Saturday, kicking off a week of half term activities at Blackburn Market.

Simon McMinnis has featured on the BBC One show with his intricate life-like carvings when he was asked to create a lifelike sculptor of one of the programme guests, Jimmy Nesbitt.  He will be creating a masterpiece in the market hall on Saturday 26th October where it will be on display till Tuesday.  Hallowe’en craft activities and face painting will follow throughout the week.

Award winning pumpkin sculptor, Simon, from Poulton le Fylde, is a tiler by trade and as well as being known worldwide for his carvings is also a giant pumpking grower.
