Drugs found in Accrington house raid today warrant suspicions Rothwell Avenue police officers neighbourhood local fridge drugs crack cocaine Cannabis Plants cannabis bush Police discovered cannabis and suspected cocaine during a house raid in Accrington earlier today.

Around 11am, officers from the Woodnook, Peel and Barnfield neighbourhood policing team executed a warrant at an address on Rothwell Avenue and discovered two large cannabis plants, cannabis bush and a large amount of powder – believed to be crack cocaine and amphetamine.

The action came after members of the public highlighted concerns to local police officers.

Community Beat Manager PC Rachel Pilkington said: “The plants were around 3.5ft high and were heavily budded. The powder, which was found in the fridge, has now been sent off for forensic analysis and enquiries are ongoing to find out who was responsible.

“We are committed to taking action to remove drugs from our communities and I urge residents to continue to come forward with information or suspicions about drugs in their neighbourhood.”
