Rishton business a finalist in North West Women’s Business Awards
Jane Caunce from Ellison Printing on High Street, Rishton, is up for the Small Business of the Year Category. Her company was set up 41 years ago by her parents Fred and Hazel Ellison. Whilst Jane played an active part in the business for most of her life, she joined full time in 1990, working her way up, where today she is responsible for its day to day running.
Jane believes the main key to their success is that they put their customers first and go the extra mile. “Being a family business is important to us,” she says. “We have customers who have been with us for more than 35 years. We’ve maintained that through our vast knowledge and experience of the print process and consistently delivering quality jobs.”
As well as printing, Ellison Printing has its own in house designer and can produce and print everything from parking discs for local authorities, product catalogues for automotive companies to shelf wobblers for breweries.
The Enterprise Vision Awards have been created to specifically recognize those ladies in The North West who are inspiring others by successfully running their own businesses.
Jane says: “I’m delighted and it’s a real compliment to have been nominated and shortlisted for the final. As a small business it’s great to be appreciated and recognized for our work. “
The EVAs have become established awards for women who champion entrepreneurial growth in the region and it’s a great opportunity to showcase the many and varied businesses that are out there.
The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony which takes place at the Ribby Hall village Hotel on 14th September 2012.
