A Darwen pensioner who was was made the subject of a Sexual Offences Prevention Order after police found photographs of children on his phone earlier in the year, has now been charges with 20 counts of sexual offences against children.
James Joseph Corbett, formerly of Ashton Road, Darwen but currently in HMP Preston, is accused of offences including rape, gross indecency, indecent assault, sexual touching and incitement.
The offences are alleged to have occurred between 1969 and 2011 and relate to nine female victims aged between seven and 16 years old.
This means he is facing a total of 25 charges.
He is due to appear at Blackburn Magistrates Court on Monday, 3 September 2012.
