A Range Rover with tinted windows has been reportedly been driving around the Accrington area with a back seat passenger shooting a paintball gun at passers-by.

The first incident happened around 11.15pm on Saturday 21st July when a rear seat passenger in a black Range Rover Sport fired a paintball gun five times at a 28 year old man hitting him in the arm as he walked past Rising Bridge petrol station on Manchester Road, Accrington.

The second incident took place a few minutes later when a 20 year old woman was walking near to the Tesco Express store on Abbey Street when the same vehicle pulled up alongside her and the gun was fired at her head, causing swelling and bruising  to her inner ear.

PC Paul Meades said: “This is a serious offence on innocent people which could have had far more serious consequences. Id appeal to anybody that’s knows the people responsible or with any information that could assist with our investigation to come forward and call Lancashire Police on 101.”

The Range Rover Sport is described as black, having tinted windows and police are appealing to anybody that might have seen it driving around the area at the time to come forward.
