Driver stops then runs in Whitebirk collision with motorbike strike police motorbike Lancashire Police dislocated shoulder crash court circumstances Burnley Road The driver of a black car stopped after causing a motorcyclist to crash on Whitebirk roundabout in Blackburn, but then left the scene without leaving any contact details.

The incident took place around 6.40am at the Whitebirk roundabout on Tuesday 3rd July 2012 when the motorcyclist was travelling towards Burnley Road.

The biker was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital and treated for broken ribs, a broken collar bone and dislocated shoulder.

The motorcyclist had swerved to avoid a collision with the black car which caused him to strike the kerb and come off his bike.

The driver of the car briefly stopped at the scene but failed to provide their details and police are urging them to come forward.

PC Simon Bolton from the Road Policing Unit said: “I would appeal to anybody that witnessed this collision or with any information that could assist the police to contact police. I would also appeal directly for the driver of the car to come forward so we can establish the circumstances of exactly what has happened.”
