Blackburn’s New Market open for business

Blackburn‘s New Market opened for business yesterday, 1 June 2011. Although only half full at the moment, it attracted thousands of visitors and stalls were brimming with produce and goods. We were hoping to have our video tour available last night, but due to good old ‘technical difficulties’ it will not be live until later today. The stall-holders have certainly put on a great show and the market quickly needs to fill the remaining let and un-let stalls to ensure it creates the right visitor buzz!

In our opinion there are some areas that need attention, but these are mainly either down to the council or The Mall and if these areas can be rectified then it will give the traders and even bigger boost. Those traders that have put their necks and livelihoods on the line, deserve the support of everyone. We will update you with a full report later when we are able to publish the videos.

In the meantime, get yourself down to the market and buy some quality meat, some fresh seafood, some wonderful pies and all-kinds of everything and help to make the market a great success!
